Slash’EM is Nethack with Super Lotsa Added Stuff and Extended Magic. It adds a ton of stuff to the game making it more interesting and challenging.
Instructions
Use the keyboard for everything.
Use shift+? for in game help
You can use the number pad or hjkl keys for movement.
NetHack is a big game so it will take some getting used to.

/ – what is? (ask definition for something on the screen)
o – open something, use #loot for boxes and chests
s – search for secret doors (they are everywhere)
, – pick up things
ctrl-d or ctrl-s – kick (break open locked doors)
d or D – drop something
e – eat something
< or > – climb stairs
i – see what you are carrying, inventory
w – wield a weapon
t – throw/shoot
r – read something
a – use or apply (key, bag, pick-axe, etc)
z – zap a magic wand
Z – cast a magical spell

If youre quick you can hit q and see the status of the workshop it should say Construction initiated or something similar. Once youve placed it and selected the materials any will do your still should be quickly built and look something like this . But youre going to need to do something else to keep the booze flowing youre going to need to make barrels.
Will there be a tile version soon?
It isn’t working for me, I just get “Waiting for access to perm.” with a counter, then it hits zero and says “I give up. Sorry.” Then the message “Perhaps there is an old /var/games/slashem/perm_lock around”.
Thanks for the feedback. I have fixed the lock and setup a cron job to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I had to do the same thing for Nethack and just hadn’t done it for SlashEM.
